The bronze portrait of the Father of the Viola, Lionel Tertis, CBE 1876-1975 is housed in the strings museum in Marylebone of the Royal Academy of Music. It was created during the 130th anniversary year of his birth as a celebration of the power of his ability to change the course of the instrument within his own lifetime.
The International Viola Festival, takes place on the Isle of Mann at the Erin Arts Center every 3 years, keeping his name and the striving for the highest quality of musicianship alive today.
